Greene County student dies from injuries in ATV crash

A school system official and Sheriff Wesley Holt confirmed the death of a South Greene High student injured in an ATV crash on Tuesday.

Preliminary information said Braxton Wilhoit was operating a side-by-side when the vehicle overturned on property off Flag Branch Road. Wilhoit received initial treatment and was then flown to a Johnson City hospital where he died from his injuries.

A prayer vigil was scheduled to take place at South Greene at 6 p.m. Wednesday to help support Braxton’s family.
