Carter County Man Leads Police On Chase In Carter County

A Carter man wanted in surrounding counties is arrested after leading police on a pursuit in the Stoney Creek section of Carter County Sunday. Authorities initiated a traffic stop on Steven Michael Peterson who refused to stop for deputies. Peterson had warrants out for his arrest in Sullivan and Washington counties. Those charges include aggravated assault and theft of property in Carter County. Peterson was eventually apprehended with the assistance of spike stripes in the Willow Springs Community. Peterson is being held at the Carter County Detention Center and additional charges are pending.
