JCMC Keeps Level I Designation
Last month, a team from the Tennessee Department of Health performed a site visit at Johnson City Medical Center as part of a re-verification of the hospital’s Level I trauma designation. From that visit, the team determined the hospital continues to meet the requirements of a Level I trauma center. The report states the hospital has shown significant support of this endeavor and has made investments and changes resulting in significant growth over the last four years. Johnson City Medical Center became the region’s only level I trauma center when Ballad consolidated trauma care by downgrading Holston Valley Medical Center and Bristol Regional Medical Center.
