Governor Lee Launches 200 Million Dollars In School Safety Grants

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee is launching a nearly 200 million dollar school safety grant program. The funds will place an armed School Resource Officer at every public school, plus physical security upgrades. The plan is the result of bipartisan action by Governor Lee and the General Assembly to pass strong school security measures into law during the 2023 legislative session. The funding can be used to support a variety of school security efforts. Local law enforcement and agencies as well as schools across Tennessee are invited to apply for the grant programs.
