UPDATE: New charges likely after Washington County, Tennessee inmate dies

Charges against a Washington County, Tennessee inmate will be upgraded following the death of a cellmate from injuries sustained in a fight on Monday.

Daniel Mira, 29, of Coral Springs, Florida, was originally charged with attempted second-degree murder. The other inmate, 75-year-old Johnny Slagle of Telford, died later that day.

Sheriff Keith Sexton’s report said the TBI and the District Attorney’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
