Texas tractor-trailer driver killed in Wise County crash

The driver of a tractor-trailer was pronounced dead at the scene of a wreck that shut down a portion of US 23 in Wise County on Friday.

A State Police report said the rig operated by Shandrick Ellis, 47, of Round Rock, Texas, was traveling southbound just before 10 a.m. when the 18-wheeler ran off the right side of the highway, struck an embankment, and overturned.

The crash remains under review.
