Suspect in jail following Clinchco shooting

One person is charged after a scuffle in Southwest Virginia turned to gunfire.

Dickenson County Sheriff Jeremy Fleming said the shooting occurred in the Clinchco area around 9 p.m. Tuesday in the vicinity of Banner Street, following an argument between the victim and 21-year-old Ryan Matthew Ballweg.

The victim was shot in the chest, and at last check was listed in stable condition. Ballweg was arrested and charged Wednesday with attempted murder and aggravated malicious wounding.
