Jonesborough Leaders Change Beer Sales Ordinance Local Distillery Pleased
Leaders in Tennessee’s oldest town have decided to allow establishments to serve beer if half of their revenue comes from food. The decision comes after local distillery Tennessee Hill asked for permission to make and sell beer in Jonesborough. Before the meeting on Monday, any business selling alcohol in the town was required to make at least 75 percent of their sales from food. That figure has now been lowered to 50 percent. The move pleased Tennessee Hills and the distillery says they support efforts to include a food element as the distillery serves beer in Jonesborough.
