Jonesborough K-8 school update
Washington County Tennessee School Board members were updated Tuesday on the progress at the new Jonesborough K-8 school and were told plans for the facility are still on schedule. Students from Jonesborough Middle and Jonesborough Elementary are set to move into the new K-8 school at the start of the spring semester in January of 2024. Jerry Boyd, superintendent of Washington County Tennessee Schools, said there are many new upgrades compared to the two older facilities. He said construction is due to be completed near the end of October, then staging of the school will begin. As for the older buildings being vacated, school leaders are still working with Jonesborough and Washington County governments on future plans.
