Iowa child sex suspect pursued in Carter County

A search in the woods of Carter County, Tennessee resumed Monday after a wanted child sex crime suspect from Iowa was spotted outside of Hampton.

County and state officers with tracking dogs were near Nanny Smith Road when 36-year-old Wayne Wickenkamp exited his vehicle after a chase on Hwy 321.

Police were tipped off by Iowa officials who said he might travel towards Northeast Tennessee. Wickenkamp faces trial for multiple cases of child sexual abuse. He is considered armed and dangerous.
