I-81 Crash Report
A crash on Interstate 81 that had southbound lanes backed up near mile marker 29 over the weekend, for around an hour, was caused by a blown tire, according to the THP. A crash report said a vehicle was traveling south on I-81 when a tire blew, causing the driver to lose control. The report said the vehicle lost control and then struck another vehicle with both eventually coming to rest in the median. All occupants of the first vehicle were transported to the hospital with two being transported by helicopter. No one in the second vehicle was injured. The THP report says charges are pending against the driver of the first vehicle.
