Combative female suspect facing theft and drug charges

On Monday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office released details of a drug arrest made last week.

Police originally pursued Angel Jones, 36, of Johnson City after they said she was spotted in a vehicle reported stolen out of North Carolina.

Jones was caught after trying to run from the scene and became combative with officers as she was being processed in Jonesborough. That is when Jones reportedly pulled out drugs she tried to smuggle into the jail. She faces several charges including introducing contraband, evading arrest, and possession of stolen property also with previous outstanding warrants.
