“Parade of Champions” in Elizabethton this Saturday

The Elizabethton Police Department has released traffic plans for the “Parade of Champions” that will feature World Series Champion Evan Carter on Saturday and the State Champion Elizabethton High School Betsy Band. Police say Elk Avenue in downtown will be closed beginning at 3 pm on Saturday. Police ask that all vehicles are moved off Elk Avenue by 3. The parade will be held in a reverse pattern from that of the Christmas parade with start of the parade being at the intersection of Riverside Dr. and Elk Avenue. The Parade will begin after the lighting of the Fraser Fir which will begin at 5, with Carter lighting the tree between 6 and 6:15. Ice skating and food trucks are planned at Covered Bridge Park from 6 til 8 with “Skate by the Doe”.
