Greenville BOE to discuss opposing proposed voucher program
The Greeneville Board of Education will discuss formally opposing Governor Bill Lee’s proposed school voucher program. Director of Schools for Greeneville City Schools Steve Starnes said Monday that money for the school voucher program would come from taxpayer dollars. Starnes said he thinks public schools are already underfunded, and if they receive less funding, school leaders may have to cut teachers and programs. The Greeneville Board of Education will consider a resolution to formally oppose the proposed school voucher program during its meeting Tuesday at 5 p.m.
