Downtown driver in Greeneville charged following crash involving toddler

Greeneville police have charged a driver who reportedly struck a 2-year-old child in a downtown crosswalk.

In the Tuesday evening incident on Tusculum Boulevard near East Grove Street, the driver was charged with failing to yield to pedestrians.

The toddler was walking with its mother when the vehicle hit them. The juvenile was listed in stable condition at Niswonger Children’s Hospital.
