VA Lottery data says a new record is set
Newly released data by the Virginia Lottery shows Virginians spent more than half a billion dollars on sports betting in October. That sets a new record. The data shows that in October, Virginians wagered over $571 million, the highest since legal sports betting began in 2021. Players in Virginia also took home over $507 million in winnings in October. So far this year, sports betting has brought in over $58 million in tax revenue for the state.
