UNDER ARREST: Suspect in murder of Blount County deputy in custody
Kenneth DeHart, the suspect charged with fatally shooting a Blount County deputy and injuring another was apprehended on Tuesday at a home on Linden Avenue in Knoxville. DeHart spent nearly five days on the run. DeHart is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and felon in possession of a weapon after two Blount County deputies were shot during a traffic stop in the 4900 block of Sevierville Road on Thursday. Deputy Greg McCowan died from his injuries.. Deputy Shelby Eggers was shot in the leg and is recovering.
