Washington County deputies bitten by dog and suspect at domestic call
Two Washington County, Tennessee deputies were bitten during a domestic call in Jonesborough-one by a dog and another by a suspect.
Sheriff Keith Sexton said 46-year-old Christina Chess and 52-year-old Joseph Tremer were fighting in the middle of Mayberry Road when officers arrived. That’s when one officer was bitten on the leg by Tremer’s dog. Officers then wrestled with Tremer to place on handcuffs who was combative and had to be sprayed with a chemical agent to be subdued, but not before he bit a deputy during the tussle.
Tremer, who also had a handgun, is charged on multiple counts including resisting arrest and assault against first responders. Both are charged with domestic assault.
