One driver dies at the scene of a wrong-way crash on Interstate 26

One person is dead after a crash on Interstate 26 that resulted in several miles of the highway shut down by police.

A city report says a driver was headed in the wrong direction when they collided with another vehicle head on near Eastbound Exit 17.

Austin Teagarden, 27, of Knoxville died at the scene. The wrong-way driver received serious injuries and police said charges are pending.
