German pipe manufacturer BorTec investing $3 million for Johnson City plant

A new production facility and jobs are headed to Johnson City.

Washington County leaders joined state economic officials for the announcement of BorTec constructing its first U.S. plant and adding 35 new jobs at the future heat treatment plant.

The German-based company produces wear and corrosion-resistant pipes and their investment in Northeast Tennessee is $3 million.
