VDOT works to remove boulder from Route 19

VDOT reports that one lane has been reopened on the Porterfield Highway between Abingdon and Hansonville. Crews are working to remove a large boulder and debris that has fallen into the roadway. VDOT says the rock is in the area between Brumley Gap Road and the John Douglas Wayside. No word on when the removal work will be complete.
