New bullying and cyberbullying laws in TN coming July 1
Tennessee lawmakers have passed a new law with the hope of cracking down on bullying and cyberbullying. Those acts will now be treated the same as harassment under Tennessee law beginning July 1. Tennessee lawmakers said this was necessary due to rapidly rising youth suicide rates. This also comes on the heels of an extra SRO officer being placed at Bristol Virginia Middle School last week for the online release of what’s called “diss-tracks” featuring students making derogatory comments about other students and school staff.
