Second suspect arrested in Carter County murder
A second suspect has been taken into custody after a man was found dead in a buried freezer in Carter County. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced Friday afternoon that Jim Chambers was found and arrested in Louisiana. The Carter County Sheriff’s Office had charged Chambers with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Edward Elliott, who was found on May 15 inside a buried freezer in a remote part of Hampton. An additional suspect, Joey Guinn, also faces first-degree murder and other charges in the case.
