Lundberg’s Harshbarger complaint heads to AG’s office
Tennessee’s Registry of Election Finance board will send Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti a complaint against a political action committee distributing anti-Jon Lundberg ads by Lundberg’s state senate campaign primary opponent Bobby Harshbarger. Members voted unanimously Tuesday to forward the complaint. The complaint stems from anti Lundberg advertisements being paid for by a PAC with administrative ties to Tennessee First District Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger, who is Bobby Harshbarger’s mother. The complaint says Congresswoman Harshbarger has the same campaign treasurer as the treasurer for the PAC placing those ad buys. Lundberg approved of the board’s decision, while Bobby Harshbarger’s campaign manager called the effort “a desperate attempt to save Lundberg’s failing campaign.”
