TN Lawmakers announce Arts Commission grants for Washington County organizations

Washington County state lawmakers just announced $241K in Tennessee Arts Commission grants for local organizations State Rep. Rebecca Alexander of Jonesborough, State Rep. Tim Hicks of Gray, and State Sen. Rusty Crowe of Johnson City announced $241,480 in grant funding from the Tennessee Arts Commission to support various arts and cultural activities in Washington County. The City of Johnson City, First Tennessee Development District, Johnson City Symphony Orchestra and the Town of Jonesborough are a few of the grant recipients. The commission expects to award approximately 1,000 annual and rolling grants during the year, totaling up to $12 million.
