Bristol, TN council considers new home for State Liners
On the agenda at Bristol, Tennessee’s City Council’s Tuesday night work session was the consideration of renovations to the school system’s Tod Houston Memorial Field to become the new home of the Bristol State Liners. The Appalachian League team was meant to start this season with a new facility at White Top Creek Park. The project was to be a partnership between the city and Boyd Sports, which owns every other local Appalachian League team but Boyd Sports pulled out of the project. The team has been playing this season without a specific home stadium, practicing at Tusculum University and playing home games at various Appy League stadiums. The city hopes to use some of the plans from the White Top project for upgrades to Tod Houston Memorial Field upgrades.
