Singin’ and sippin’: Country Thunder organizers urge guests to hydrate & bring reusable water bottle
There’s an added attraction for this weekend’s Country Thunder event in Bristol and it will be a part of the opening and closing acts: the heat.
The music fest at Bristol Motor Speedway will bring extra traffic to Volunteer Parkway and surrounding campgrounds. With a forecast steaming with 90 degree plus temperatures, event organizers are urging concertgoers to stay hydrated by bringing one factory sealed, clear plastic water bottle and an empty reusable vial.
BMS is providing refill stations at select concourses, at Gate #6, and on the track infield.
This week’s National Championship celebration for Tennessee Baseball is a prime example of how hot weather can wipe out crowds. More than four dozen parade guests had to be treated for heat exhaustion along the championship parade route.
