I-26 motorcycle fatality reported Saturday morning

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Interstate 26 in Johnson City Saturday. It happened just before 11:30 Saturday morning on westbound I-26 at mile 13.8, that is near the Gray exit. Police are identifying the motorcyclist as 69-year-old Vernon Humphrey. Police say his motorcycle left the road and went into the median before striking a cable barrier. The crash is still under investigation.
