Hawkins County Humane Society shelter at almost double capacity

The Hawkins County Humane Society is at capacity with some animals currently being housed in make shift kennels and animal crates. Shelter officials say they have had to turn other rooms into dog rooms just to house the massive intake they have experienced. The Shelter says they can house about 30 dogs comfortably but currently have almost 60 animals. The shelter is asking the community for donations of dog and cat food, and also bleach. The Hawkins County Humane Society is also having a special with low-cost adoption fees until Saturday, July 20.
