Hawkins County Schools going cell phone free

Hawkins County Schools has posted its new cell phone policy on the front of its website and plans to enact the changes at the beginning of this upcoming school year.

High school students are not allowed to use their phones during or between classes unless it is for academic purposes and under the supervision of a teacher.

Juveniles in middle schools must turn off their phones and other electronics before entering the buildings and they cannot be visible during the day.
