JC Board of Education approve new cell phone policy

The Johnson City Board of Education met Monday and approved new policies on artificial intelligence, cell phones and more. The school system implemented a new cell phone policy at Science Hill High School that includes headphones and wireless earbuds. Cell phones are only permitted outside of classrooms. All elementary and middle school students are not allowed to have cell phones at all during the school day. The board also signed off on a policy about how to use artificial intelligence in curriculum planning and how to prevent misuse.
