Bristol TN approves property tax increase
The Bristol, Tennessee City Council approved a nearly 13 percent property tax increase. The tax rate will go from $1.98 per $100 of assessed value to $2.25. Rising costs, keeping the fund balance compliant, and worker retention were given as justification for the increase. The council also approved a resolution authorizing an agreement with Boyd Sports for baseball at Tod Houston Field. Boyd Sports will provide up to $2 million towards construction and Boyd Sports will use the field for State Liners baseball and other events from June 1 through November30.
