Johnson City public works alerts residents of blasting near West Oakland Avenue

Johnson City public works officials are reminding residents in the areas of West Oakland Avenue and Denny Mill Road of controlled rock blasting that is scheduled to begin midweek.

The city report said blasting would take place two to three times per week and would fall on every other day depending on schedule.

Residents in that area should expect a sound of 120 decibels for each blast that may cause ground vibrations. The recommend that pet owners keep their animals inside while the operations are taking place.
