Deputies, animal care group remove more than 60 dogs from property
An East Tennessee woman faces criminal charges after investigators found dozens of dogs at her property in Dandridge.
Paula Whitt, 58, faces 55 counts of aggravated animal cruelty after a rescue operation spearheaded by the Companion Animal Rescue and Education agency.
Police said the investigation began Friday when officers observed the conditions at Whitt’s home. Workers were tasked with taking possession of 63 dogs at the property located on Argonnia Lane.
The CARE organization has also placed a request for help on social media asking for food, blankets, donations, and other items that can help in the care of the animals.
