TDEC grant to Johnson and Washington Counties to enhance trails
Tennessee’s Office of Outdoor Recreation within the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation has awarded Johnson and Washington counties grants to improve trails. Johnson and Washington Counties will receive nearly $800,000 for trail development and expansion. The Town of Jonesborough will use $392,000 for a paved walkway system and 2 pedestrian bridges connecting Mill Spring Park to Stage Road Park. Johnson County will use an identical amount of grant money on the Doe Mountain Recreation Authority for construction of off highway vehicle trails.
