Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office to hold training for parents after school threats
After a 15-year-old was arrested and charged with a Class E felony in relation to a threat against Unicoi County High School, the sheriff’s office has launched a new initiative to train parents and guardians to recognize signs that their student could be making school threats. Sheriff’s Office officials confirmed the student was arrested and charged with Threat of Mass Violence on School Property or at a School-Related Activity. Both conferences will be held at Unicoi County High School. The first will be October 10 from 6-8 p.m. The second will be October 12 from 9-11 a.m. If you’d like to attend you’re asked to register with the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office.
