BMS race weekend brings more traffic and changed speed limits near track

The Bristol, Tennessee Police Department is reminding drivers to watch pedestrians and pay close attention to officers directing traffic around Bristol Motor Speedway. The speed limit on Highway 11E near the track has been reduced for race week. It has gone from 45 to 35 mph. Slow down, obey all traffic signs, and be aware of other traffic devices temporarily installed for safety. If walking, use sidewalks when possible and cross only in designated areas. Wait to ensure traffic stops before stepping into the roadway.
