JC Salvation Army Angel Tree program announces new in-person application process
The Salvation Army of Johnson City has just announced a new in-person application process for families looking to have a child or children sponsored by the Angel Tree program this Christmas season. The Salvation Army says Angel Tree applications will be conducted in person only this year. Other changes include the addition of Greene County as an eligible place of residence, as well as raising the age limit to 17 years old. Application sessions will take place at the Dawn of Hope on East Oakland Avenue in Johnson City, on September 26 and 27 from 4:30–7 p.m. and September 28 from 10 a.m.–noon. The Angel Tree program has been providing families in financial need with Christmas gifts for years. The organization said it is also looking for volunteers to help with this year’s Angel Tree program. For more information on the eligibility and application process or to sign up to volunteer, contact the Johnson City Salvation Army.
