Kingsport police charge 11-year-old with posting phony threat against Dobyns Bennett High

Another local student faces potential jail time after they made threats of violence at Dobyns Bennett High School in Kingsport.

A city police report said the bogus information posted on the TikTok app, stating they would “shoot up DB.” The statement said investigators were able to track down the source and the 11-year-old juvenile, charging them with a felony count of false reporting.

The report reminded parents to warn their children of the consequences for these kinds of threats and city police will take all necessary steps and legal means to keep children safe.
