TDEC issues mandatory water conservation order for NETN
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation has issued a mandatory water conservation order for Northeast Tennessee. TDEC issued that order Tuesday night and noted that it applies to the entirety of six counties in Northeast Tennessee. All residents of Carter, Greene, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington counties are ordered to conserve water as much as possible. Residents should refrain from non-essential uses of water, which include washing clothes, cars and dishes or irrigating landscapes. Parts of Cocke, Sevier and Jefferson counties are also under the mandatory water conservation order. Multiple utility districts are also functioning under boil water advisories.
