Johnson City man arrested in attempted dog theft

On Monday, Johnson City Police officers arrested 27 year old Antonio Calderon of Johnson City and charged him with aggravated burglary. Officers responded to a possible burglary in progress call at a home on East Holston Avenue. When officers arrived, they saw Calderon exiting the residence with a dog. While investigating, officers discovered Calderon had an outstanding warrant out of Johnson City. The homeowner told police that Calderon did not have permission to be at the home and was trying to steal the dog. Calderon was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
