Youngkin sending recommendation to ARC for outdoor attraction repairs funds
Governor Youngkin announced plans to recommend $1.3 million in funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission to help rebuild outdoor recreation facilities and grounds in Southwest Virginia that were damaged in Hurricane Helene.
Youngkin said repairs must be made to strengthen outdoor assets to support tourism and small businesses.
Some of the areas mentioned by Youngkin that require restoration include the Virginia Creeper Trail, boat ramps along the Clinch River, and visitor areas with debris.
