South Industrial Drive in Erwin TN to reopen soon

South Industrial Drive in Erwin is set to open soon. County leaders say it’s the first step in bringing businesses back to the Industrial Park. It’s been nearly five months since any of the six companies in the Industrial Park have been open for business after flooding from Hurricane Helene tore through the area. The road that is to open through the park will be temporary because of the urgency to gain access to the park for the affected businesses and their employees who remain out of work. Officials say the temporary road will be able to handle the same capacities and the permanent road. Funding for the road was provided through a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission.
