THP Investigating Sunday’s Fatal Accident Involving Motorcycle on Highway 421

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Sunday morning involving a motorcycle and a vehicle in Johnson County.

A report from THP says a motorcycle driven by Steven McGuire, 23, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 421 when a vehicle pulled out in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle hit the vehicle in the rear drivers side, killing McGuire on impact. The report said McGuire’s helmet was not fastened properly and came off at impact.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
