Man Arrested After Stealing Car Left Unattended In Johnson City

Johnson City Police have arrested a Johnson City man after he allegedly stole a vehicle while the driver was inside a convenience store. 52 year old Bobby Thompson of 120 W Unaka Street is charged with motor vehicle theft after the driver of the vehicle went inside the store and Thompson drove away . The vehicle was quickly located traveling on Interstate 26 where a traffic stop was performed and Thompson was arrested and was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday afternoon in Washington County General Sessions Court.
