Tennessee Teacher of Year…From East Tennessee

An East Tennessee educator is named the 2019-2020 Tennessee teacher of the Year. Brian McLaughlin is an eleven year veteran, algebra teacher at Morristown Hamblem High School West and received the award from the Tennessee Department of Education. McLaughlin has been recognized as a Level 5 teacher every year of his career. A level 5 designation is given to teachers when their students make significantly more progress that the growth standard. McLaughlin will also represent Tennessee in the National Teacher of The Year Program
