Sullivan County BOE Moves Forward with Commission Resolution for $800,000 Funding of School System
The threat of temporary suspension of daily operations at Sullivan County Schools due to loss of funding is no more.
Following approval of $800,000 by the Sullivan County Commission to help the school system meet the maintenance of effort requirements at a special called meeting Wednesday, the Board of Education unanimously approved the resolution during its meeting Thursday night. The Board of Education will now forward its updated budget to the state for consideration, and if accepted, state funding will resume. State revenue funding to the county values more than $4 million per month.
