Job Reports: Northeast TN Counties Drop in Unemployment Rate from August to September
The Tennessee September job report brings good news to a large part of the state, including areas in Northeast Tennessee.
The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development released the latest statistics Thursday, and although the overall unemployment rate of 3.4% did not change from August to September, it did drop for most counties in the state, as well as a drop of 0.3% in the Tri-Cities. The Combined Statisical Areas of Johnson City-Kingsport-Bristol that measures six counties, dropped to an unemployment rate of 3.3% last month. Additionally, each Northeast Tennessee county saw a drop in their unemployment rate. Below is a list by each county:
Carter County: August Rate (4%)/September Rate (3.6%)
Greene County: August Rate (4.6%)/September Rate (4.5%)
Hamblen County: August Rate (3.9%)/September Rate (3.6%)
Hawkins County: August Rate (4.1%)/September Rate (3.9%)
Johnson County: August Rate (3.2%)/September Rate (3%)
Sullivan County: August Rate (3.6%)/September Rate (3.4%)
Unicoi County: August Rate (4.7%)/September Rate (4.4%)
Washington County: August Rate (3.5%)/September Rate (3.2%)
