UPDATE: State environment officials coming to Holliston Mills plant to examine fallout from plant fire
Local and state investigators will look for the cause of a large fire Thursday afternoon at the Holliston Mills production facility in Church Hill, Tennessee that resulted in dozens of residences being evacuated due to the possibility of harmful fumes.
Hawkins County EMA Director Jamie Miller said barrels containing chemicals located inside and outside the facility caught fire and Holliston’s employees were evacuated and accounted for with no injuries reported.
Other chemicals and property were damaged but all employees were evacuated with no injuries reported. Miller said that officials with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation would be in Church Hill to examine the property for any potential hazards left from the fire.
