Unicoi Commission Gives Approval to Having Own Ambulance Service
The Unicoi County Commission has approved to move forward with establishing it’s own ambulance service.
During Monday night’s commission meeting, leaders unanimously passed the measure, which would bring an end to temporary services that have been provided by the county of Washington and Johnson City EMS since approval of an inter-local agreement back in July. MedicOne previously served as Unicoi County’s EMS provider until it pulled out of it’s contract earlier this year.
The county run service is expected to be up and running next year.
